Completely. There's no cost to join a Tamarindo People Club group, ever. Your number stays private, the chat stays spam-free, and no ads run inside any group.

Can I join more than one group?

Sure — plenty of members belong to three or four. Surfing at sunrise and building a startup by 10am? Join Surf and Digital Nomads and let the calendars sort themselves out.

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

We cap every chat around 250 people and a moderator actively removes spam, crypto pitches, and anyone selling something that isn't a genuine recommendation. It stays a place people actually read.

I'm only in Tamarindo for 5 days. Worth joining?

Especially then. Tourists - 10 Days gets you a welcome dinner this week, an airport carpool from Liberia, and locals pointing you toward the good stuff before your second sunset.

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

Not really — every taxi driver, surf instructor, and clinic in Guanacaste already runs on it, so it's worth the two-minute install. Stuck without it? Use the contact form and we'll work something out.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

Yes. New members answer a short intro — name, photo, where they're from — before anyone lets them in, and moderators pull anyone reported for scams or harassment. It's neighbors, not a marketplace.
